About Azizi
Azizi Developments is a privately held Dubai developer set up in 2007 by Mirwais Azizi, its founder and chairman. He is an Afghan-born businessman who started Azizi Group in 1989. The group also works in banking and hospitality, and in 2006 he set up Azizi Bank in Kabul. By 2019 Farhad Azizi was the developer's chief executive.
It launched its first projects in 2008. When prices fell that year, most of its buyers could not keep up their payments. It reviewed each case with the Dubai Land Department and returned the deposits, and RERA cancelled four of its original schemes in Al Furjan. It returned to the market in 2013, starting with blocks of about 100 flats each in Al Furjan, where it still has many buildings. It builds mostly apartments, often in large groups of mid-rise buildings.
Its largest community is Riviera in Meydan, in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, planned as 71 mid-rise buildings with about 16,000 homes around a lagoon. Work started in 2017, when the first two phases were due by December 2018. The first seven buildings, with 1,164 homes, were handed over in 2022. Its other large community is Azizi Venice in Dubai South.
By March 2025 it said it had delivered more than 40,000 homes in 137 buildings. In 2024 it announced Burj Azizi on Sheikh Zayed Road, planned at 725 metres, which would make it the world's second-tallest building.
Where they build
They don't stick to one part of town: their projects are spread over 11 areas, with no more than 7 in any one of them.
Their plans leave most of the bill for the end. In 24 of 26, half the price or more is due on handover, so less of your money sits in a building that isn't finished.
Booking is cheap with them: 24 of 26 plans ask for 10% or less up front.
They build for smaller budgets. Half their projects start below AED 660K, where the middle project on our site starts at AED 1.3M.
Their record
Dubai Land Department lists 84 finished projects by Azizi, and 30 under construction.
These counts include the project companies registered behind Azizi, as developers in Dubai often set up one per project.
72 of the 84 were finished by the completion date DLD holds now. DLD replaces that date when a project is given more time and keeps no earlier dates, so this can't show which ones ran late.
